I don't wanna be top dog anymore....

My kids will bypass anybody in our household to get to me, whether they are crying, asking for something, have some little tid bit to share or have already been told no by another adult. No where is safe. Doesn't matter if I'm going pee, in the shower, trying to get something done, or asleep, all I hear is "I want Mommy!" There can be three different adults standing between me and a child, and they will attempt to pass by each of them even while being told no. Evidently, I'm top dog in our house. Sometimes I use this to my advantage like this, other times, I don't wanna be in charge.

I have many examples of this but here's the one that happened today. There's four adults in our house, yes we're out numbered but we're still bigger than them. But that's besides the point. Josh had fallen asleep on the couch, Sir fell asleep on the other end of the couch, and I fell asleep on Riley's blanket on the floor. No judging, I had a huge headache. Dani was in her room with the door wide open. I had just barely dosed off when I got woken up by Jordyn. I don't even know what she was saying other than that she was tattling on Hunter and/or Holly. Here's our conversation.

Me: Jordyn am I the only adult in this house?!
Jordyn:  No, but Sir gets grumpy if I wake him up.
Me: I was talking about Dani! She's awake!
Jordyn: Oh, Ok.

And she skips away.

If this is what it's like being top dog, I don't wanna be anymore...

Leaning tower of laundry

This is what's left over from yesterday,
not counting what is in the basket off to the
side, or counting what's in the
laundry room!

I know it's only Tuesday, but I don't feel like I've accomplished a single thing all week. Although, since weekends are more work than actual breaks, I don't know where one week ends and another begins. I have mounds of clean clothes in my room that need put away. I hate putting clothes away. Not so much mine, Josh's and Riley's, but Hunter and Holly's clothes suck. They just don't have enough room. They share a dresser and putting stuff on hangers limits them in being able to pick out their own outfits. Plus Miss Riley shares our room and she doesn't like to let me get anything done. In the morning it's coffee and computer time for me, play time for her. Then naps and lunch, for the kids not me. I can't be in my room then or Riley won't sleep. Even if I'm quiet it's like she senses me in the room. After they wake up it's snack time then back to playing. I can't put her in her crib to play cause that just pisses her off after she just spent two hours in there sleeping and if I put her on my floor I might never find her again. Yes, I know one less kid might sound like a bonus but I'm kind of attached to her. So I'm stuck running back and forth between the living room where she's playing to mine and the kids room trying to get this never ending laundry put away. It can take days this way to get it done and by then I've washed more clothes and added to the mess. It's a never ending cycle of craziness! Where are those damn cleaning fairies when you really need them?

No tattling

We have a lot of kids in our house, ok more than a lot. Some days I can't even count them all or keep their names straight. Anyways, because of how many there are, there is a lot of tattling! Enough that if you actually listened to it all, you would want to bash your head against a brick wall. Don't give me that look, I know you've been there too!

Hunter took my toy! Holly hit me! Aiden is hanging from the rod in the closet! Anthony choked me! Alexis won't talk to me! Jordyn won't shut up! Holly said I'm a jerk! Hunter said he hates me! Aiden said he's not my friend anymore! Holly and Aiden played in the dog poop! Is your brain starting to melt yet? Yeah mine too!

So now every time one of them comes to tattle I repeat the same thing.

  • Dead
  • Dying
  • Bleeding
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Bones protruding
  • Or siblings resorting to cannibalism

Unless it falls into one of those categories, shake it off, you'll be fine. I bet I'm going to be getting that Mommy of the Year award soon after this post! :)

Just hand over the coffee...

My household has caused me to take mommy brain to a whole new level. They have stolen my brain and passed it around amongst themselves. They've dropped it, thrown it, kicked it and just generally had a good ole' time with it. You remember those sticky hands your kids get out of the quarter machine that you find stuck to everything from the TV, to the carpet to the ceiling? You know how they get all nasty after hours of fun and abuse? That's how my brain was when my children finally gave it back to me. So at the end of the day, they have nobody but themselves to blame when I finally let out the crazy!

I start out most days normal, calm and sane. Usually after a night of broken sleep courtesy of my 7 month old, teething daughter, Riley. I've trained Hunter, 5 years old, and Holly, 3 years old, to play with their baby sister while I go pee and go to the kitchen to get them some breakfast and start the coffee pot. Mom of the year that I am, I usually start the coffee first. Then comes the ritual of telling Holly to get her panties and some pants on and hoping that she woke up with a dry pullup. Then telling her to try again cause her panties are sideways and her pants are on backwards. And trying to keep them from yelling or screaming too loudly and waking up grumpy uncle Sir, (I'll explain the name later) who is asleep in his room on the couch, at least until the coffee gets done. Hopefully the rest of the morning is calm and uneventful. On good days they don't even tattle on each other without asking me if I drank my coffee yet. Smart little cookies aren't they? On the average day I spend the morning telling Holly to stop running through the house, reminding Hunter it's nice to share the toys and occasionally pretending like I didn't see Holly hit her brother and call him a jerk after he again snatches a toy away from her. Luckily Riley is usually pretty good during this time, army crawling across the living room floor searching for any food that fell off her walker during her morning snack that I missed cleaning up. You're envious aren't you...

Am I really crazy?

Writing...blogging...what's that? I don't remember anymore! I use to make time every single day to write. It helped me keep what precious little was left of my sanity. Now I'm so busy that the only time I can even think of something to write about is when I lay down to go to sleep and can't stop my brain from running in circles. Maybe I'm just crazy....hmm what are the signs of craziness?

  • having 7 children...check
  • having a household consisting of 9-11 people...check
  • yelling at my phone and/or laptop when people are being stupid and pissing me off while everybody in my house just stands there and laughs at me...check
  • staying up till 1am just to have a little piece and quiet without the kids, knowing full well that the baby will wake me up as soon as I start to fall asleep...check
  • trying to find different things to make for dinner even though I know somebody in the bunch will most likely refuse to eat it...check
  • putting two 5 year olds and a 3 year old in the same room at bedtime and actually expecting them to go to sleep...check
  • actually expecting a reasonable answer from the same two 5 year olds as to why they thought it was ok to jump off their sister's bed to touch the ceiling fan...check
  • walking into a room and having absolutely no idea why the hell I just walked in there...check
  • asking what happened when one or both of the 5 year olds are crying. I actually no longer care...check
  • expecting my hubby to be, Josh, to actually pay attention to what I'm saying to him when he's playing video games or watching tv...check
  • then expecting him to know what he did wrong...check

I'm starting to see a pattern here...I'm not crazy, I'm just a mom! lol

Weekend Catch Up...

Thank freaking goodness for the second trimester of pregnancy!!!!! I was starting to think I would never again feel even close to human again. The evil "morning" sickness is over, unless I'm hungry of course, and the headaches are bearable. I'm still tired but not nearly as much as before. I don't think I've taken a nap in like 4 or 5 days! And I've been able to make meals for dinner without the smells making me want to hurl. I'm so excited! I'm pretty sure the rest of the household is too! lol.

So Friday was a crazy day! J had to work for a few hours in the morning so D and I decided that at nap time, she and I would go get hair cuts. Miss Teeny is old enough to babysit. So I text J and told him what we were doing but he said he was almost done at work and needed a hair cut too. So we said ok, we'd wait for him and all of us would go. While waiting for him S showed up and it was decided she would tag along with us. J was way late of course plus still needed a shower. Finally we all left. Didn't have time for hair cuts at this point cause I had a 1:45 doctors appointment. So we all went to the park instead. Then all 8 of us went to my appointment. Miss Teeny and Jordyn got to go back with me this time and see the ultrasound. Baby is doing perfect. Then we went to get lunch cause I was starving. Think they all were too! lol. Afterwards, finally off to get our haircuts. D's took forever! lol. Her hair is so thick plus she does layers, I don't. Then we split up sending all kids home with D, S's boyfriend came to get her, and J and I headed off to pick up the boys for the weekend. Run back home, drop us off, then J had like a 45 minute drive to pick up his other "daughter" Tilly for the weekend. I'm at home getting things ready for later that night. D gave Hunter and Holly a much needed late nap and I fed A and Mr. Man. By the time J and Tilly got back we had everything ready, then it was off to Nitro Jams. Drag racing! So we are standing by the car getting everything organized, and all of a sudden my leg hurts bad! Takes a minute then we realize Mr. Man and Hunter are trying to play with some big black ants. Two of them had quickly made their way up my pant legs! I'm reaching all the way down my pants  picking up ants and throwing them on the ground! So I end up sitting in J's car, taking my shoes and pants off, checking for more ants! Not fun!!! My legs freaking hurt!!!! So, get everything all settled and off to the races. Walked around for a bit looking at cars and stuff then found us a great seat where we could all fit plus the double and umbrella strollers. Things were going great. The first car got ready, then had an oil spill. It took like an hour to get that cleaned up! We walked around, ate snacks I had packed, cause I'm awesome like that, and waited, and waited....Eventually we were hungry and me, J, D, Mr. Man and Holly went in search of food. Other than kettle corn, way too expensive! I came up with just eating that plus the two bags of popcorn I brought and eating afterwards. So that's what we did, The races finally got started. We had to cover Holly's ears each time but other than that everybody did great. My legs had stopped hurting but I later discovered this was only because of the cold. Once I got warm again, they hurt again. We ended up leaving before it was completely done but we saw most of it. It was almost midnight when we left. So we grabbed some family packs at taco bell and headed home. The little kids hardly ate then crashed. I ate 3 soft tacos. I was hungry. About 1amthe adults finally got to crash. Then poor J, he had to be at work the next morning by like 7:15.  Most of the kids slept til like 10:30 this morning! WOW! Yesterday really was a crazy ass day! lol. Now after writing and rereading all of that, I think it's time for a snack and maybe a nap! lol.

At Nitro Jam. There were 10 of us and that's how many balloons we ended up with too. 8 of them attatched to the two strollers!

Posing with the Black Pearl! Arg.....

Shockwave...wow was he loud and bad ass! lol

Seriously Thursday!?

I've been missing for awhile so I'm not really sure if anybody is still doing Seriously Thursday with From Mrs.To Mama but I have PLENTY of things that have made me go SERIOUSLY!? lately.

Seriously...can my 3 year old Hunter and my room mates 4 year old ever go one day without fighting and arguing with each other???? They start asking for each other as soon as they wake up or if they have to spend a few hours without each other, but then when you put them together it's fighting, biting, punishing, kicking, toy stealing...you name it, they do it! Is this like dogs trying to establish who is the Alpha male? Whatever it is, I seriously wish they would stop!

Seriously...I think this has officially been the longest week in the history of the world!!!!!! You name it and it's gone wrong this week. It's been nothing but one emotional roller coaster after another. As I type this there is more screaming from the mini alpha males....calgon take me away!

Seriously...Why does Hunter spend the 2 hours before dinner asking to be fed, like he's really just wasting away, then when it's actually time to sit down and eat he decides he's not really hungry.

Seriously...On a positive note, Monday was my birthday and a bunch of amazing made the whole weekend awesome and very special for me. I seriously love you guys!

Seriously...My room mates are completely awesome too. I've had a few melt downs this week and they have seriously helped me to de-stress lately. Much love you guys!

Seriously...I am so happy to be back to blogging again!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still here!!!!!

I am such a bad bad blogger! Do they give out awards for being M.I.A, for way too long? The only real excuse I have is that I can't write openly and honestly right now. I will tell you that from previous writings, a lot of you will be oh so proud of me. Hubby and I are separated. Ok, let's not get carried away with the cheering! lol. We've been separated for close to a month now. The kids and I are still staying with some friends and we are still in Arizona. Hubby sees and/or talks to the kids just about every day. Actually he gets a little stalkerish at times. Is that even a word? I don't know but it is now! Things are still a little difficult right now, dealing with things and trying to figure out the right path I should be on, but all in all, I'm very happy and so are the kids. We have wonderful friends and a pretty busy social life. There's still a bit too much arguing between hubby and me but the difference is I don't have to put up with it now. I can hang up, stop texting, or tell him to leave. And another great thing that's happened as a result of all of this, I'm losing weight. Without even trying! Yes, keep the cheering coming! I will try to get back into blogging soon. You have no idea how much I miss it! It's just really difficult when everything you do, say or write gets dissected and flipped around. But soon, soon I will have my life back. Please don't forget about me in the blogging world, I am still here.

Let's Review

Is this week FINALLY over?! Oh thank goodness! Now please, somebody promise me next week will be better. Go ahead, lie to me if you have to, it will still make me feel better. But make sure to leave your name and address so that if it turns out horrible too I can hunt you down like a dog thank you properly!

So here's what the longest week in the history of the world is like.

Monday: Hunter, who if you're new here, is my 3 1/2 year old son, acted like a mini asshole all day! Yes, I just called my son an asshole. Hey if the shoe fits! This made him mean and hateful not just to me but to his 19 month old sister too. And let me tell you, Miss Holly has no problem being mean right back to him! She holds her own and then some! Spent the day stressing over finding somewhere to move to and trying to pack while both little meanie children unpacked everything I put into boxes, yelled at and beat each other up, and just essentially drove me absolutely batty!

Tuesday: Repeat of Monday x 2

Wednesday: Repeat of Tuesday x 3 (here's some proof) plus went to look at a 3 bedroom house that would have worked out great if it wasn't completely nasty and the landlord wasn't a major slum lord.

Thursday: Repeat of Wednesday x 4 minus the slum lord but add in tears of frustration from me and the fact that in this small ass hick town, Trick-or-Treating was that night. Refer to this post to hear about Hunter's little cry baby butt during this supposedly fun event and to see some cute pics.

Friday: Repeat of Thursday x 5 minus the Trick-or-Treating. Add in that we still can't find a decent place to move to and our time is QUICKLY running out. We ended up renting a one bedroom apartment at a pay by the week place until we can find something better.

Saturday: Kids were slightly better behaved then the days before, but add in some arguing with Hubby. He says I don't do anything during the day. So since Jordyn was gone at a bday party, I took my mp3 player and went in her room to pack stuff, while completely ignoring Hunter and Holly leaving him no choice but to look after them. I only put one ear bud in so that I could still hear what was going on. Even though he denied it later, it didn't take long for them to drive him crazy too! I don't care if he won't admit it, I heard it with my own ears. He just got a small taste of what I go through all day. I did manage to get a decent amount of packing done during this though!

Then after the kids went to bed we found this adorable cat outside. You could tell he was super friendly and very hungry. In a moment that reminds me why I fell for this guy in the first place, he lets the cat in, even though he has asthma and we aren't supposed to have pets here. I found some ham in the fridge to feed the poor kitty and he spent part of the night sleeping with me and the other part on Holly's little Backyardigans couch next to our bed. He is so super sweet and adorable! The cat I mean! lol. The bad part is that we won't be able to keep him. There is a $200 deposit at the place we're going to be staying at to have a pet! Outrageous right?!
So now we're up to Sunday. All three kids have been driving me batty and Hubby stayed up till like 3am so he's still asleep now at noon. Must be nice right? I know. Holly just went down for a nap and Jordyn and Hunter are playing the DSI together. For the moment I have a little bit of peace. Ahhh...

Can we just be done with this week?!

Monday I thought the day needed to start over. Tuesday I thought the week needed a do over. Today I think the whole week needs to hurry the hell up and just be done because I'm so f*%#ing over it!!!!!! Oh, that felt sooo good to type! All week Hunter and Holly have been driving me absolutely nuts! Hunter, who if you're new here or just don't remember, is 3 1/2 and Holly is almost 20 months. I swear I think they're tag teaming me or something. I know they sit in their room at night plotting new ways to drive me crazy! Hunter's favorite phrases this week are "My Mama's mean!" "I don't like you!" and "I'm closing my door!" My answer to the first two? Too bad! You're mean too! And maybe I don't like you either! And as far as his door. I'll gladly close it for him and maybe board it up from the outside! Too much? Come spend the rest of the week with him, you'll be handing me the hammer and nails! And as for Miss Holly, yesterday while I'm on the phone talking to a guy about renting a house for him, what d I turn around to see? Holly at the fridge with busted eggs all over my floor. The worst part? That's not the first time this week she's done this! I've also cleaned up no less than three spills of milk or juice from the table and floor where she's grabbed Hunter or Jordyn's cup plus a full glass of Hubby's tea in the living room cause she likes to grab his cup too. And I don't know how many times I've said the words...

"Stop getting things out of the trash! That's yucky!"
"Stop hitting your sister!"
"Don't bite your brother!"
"Stop jumping over your sister before you fall on her!"
"Do not pull poop out of your butt with your hands!"
Please, Please, for the sake of my sanity, somebody fast forward this awful damn week!!!!!

A little bit of this, A little bit of that.

I think this has had to have been the longest week in history! I am so ready for it to be over with. Poor Holly, I took her to the doctors yesterday cause for two days she had had what I thought was a really bad diaper rash. I tried three different diaper rash creams and baby powder. Nothing worked. Come to find out she has a yeast infection. I never would have guessed that one. So they give me a cream to use on her three times a day but it seems to be getting worse instead of better. I called them back today and they are calling her in a different cream. Although this one can cause liver problems so now I have to watch out for that!

Earlier today while Jordyn was at school, me, hubby, Hunter and Holly ventured out to the laundry mat. I did four triple loaders and it didn't even put a dent in the pile of dirty laundry! And oh my goodness did my legs and back hurt by the time we were done. Though I don't know why I say "we" when it was actually ME. His ob was to keep the younger two entertain and out of trouble and he didn't even do that very well. By the time we got home he was snapping at all of us like he had actually done something and was exhausted. And who has to then still take care of the kids, put laundry away, get Jordyn off the bus, and feed the kids? Yep, you guessed it, ME!

So while doing dishes I ask him to take the trash out and he acts like I'm asking him to perform brain surgery or something. Even though it was then 5 o'clock and he hadn't moved his ass out of the recliner since we got home at 1:30. So, I'm now on strike where he's concerned. I am doing absolutely nothing for him until I get a sincere apology and he starts helping out more. He got pissy, then helped with the kids a little bit, while claiming not to feel good even though he never mentioned feeling sick until I asked him to do something.

And the kids, don't even get me started on them! I'm just ready to beat their sweet little heads together! Don't judge, I know you've had the urge to do the same thing a time or two. The only good one today has been Jordyn and she was at school the majority of the day. Hunter and Holly  have been off the freaking charts. Not listening, running through the house, beating on each other, I can't even list all of their offenses today.

I am just praying for bedtime to come quickly. Followed by a long hot shower and then crawling into nice fresh sheets, my favorite blanky, and a good book.
